There is a suspension hole in the footring.  The bleu nouveau ground is overlaid by garlands of flowers and and of leaves and berries, linked by scrolls in tooled gilding. The oval quatrefoil reserve in the centre is edged with a wide band of gilding tooled with flowerheads, and painted with a scene depicting an altar to Hymen beneath a tree. The altar is in the form of a fluted pink marble column on which stands a basket of flowers containing a flaming heart. To the right of the altar are two doves standing on an overturned urn, a two garlands of pink roses, and a bow and quiver. To the left is a torch, and a shield bearing a heart pierced by an arrow. Another bow and a quiver are suspended from the tree. In the background there is a flowering bush, and distant trees.
